Why Choose Us to Move Your Family Playset?

A backyard playset is more than just a structure—it's a trusted family friend. It's the heart of countless adventures, memories, and fun moments that your family will cherish for years to come. From the excitement in your kids' eyes when they first see their wooden swingset to the heartache when it’s time to leave it behind during a move, a playset becomes a part of your family's story.
At Playset Services, we've been specializing in moving and relocating backyard playsets for over 25 years. We understand that not all movers are equipped to handle these large, intricate structures. Too often, playsets are left behind because movers won’t transport them, the task is too complicated, or there’s simply no one available to take on the job. That's where we come in.

We make the moving process as easy as possible. Simply provide us with a photo of the original setup, and our team will handle the rest. We offer specialized services to disassemble, transport, and reassemble your playset, making sure it’s in top condition when it’s in the new backyard.

Let us help you keep your family’s treasured playset with you through every move.

How We Move Wood Playscapes
Save it from a landfill. Donate it, sell it, or give it to a friend.

It starts with a phone call or on-site consultation. We need to know what type of wooden play system you have. Most people call and say it has a fort, a slide, and 3 swings with an assortment of other options. The availability of swing sets found on the internet means there are a multitude of manufacturers found in any given city. Some are made from DIY kits, plans, or Dad's Custom Playset. We need specific information such as a picture, where you bought it, brand name and age. Send info to [email protected]. Price is based on level of difficulty, required time and distance. Repairs are billed separately.

How do you Move a Backyard Swingset?
Check out how we do it.

Step One
Evaluate condition

Some wooden swingsets were not meant to be moved. We use the information you give us to determine if your playset can be moved. It's surprising how many people think we take the swings off and move the fort in one piece. That's a good way to break something on the play structure or break someone.

Step Two
Break It Down

It's safer to break it down into moveable pieces that will fit through a 30" gate rather than tear down a section of fence or risk injury. We have touched countless designs made by different companies over the years. We know how to relocate your wooden backyard swing sets.

Step Three
Load It and Move It

Taking a wooden playset apart is not easy. Moving it and reassembling is challenging. Once it's disassembled, we lug it from the backyard and load it on a trailer custom designed to relocate play equipment. Multiple straps are used to secure the load to the trailer and we move it to your new home.

Step Four
Unload and Reassemble

Upon arrival at the new location, we do a quick evaluation of the proposed area, offer advice about placement and then it's time to mule it to the new backyard and reassemble it just like we found it at the original house. This is the best time for playset preventive maintenance.

Step Five
Position and Secure

We've been fairly autonomous to this point and now we need you for final placement. This the last chance to get everything just right before we attach the add-ons from the base fort and stakedown if applicable. There are additional charges to move after positioning is approved.

Assembly Complete
Final Inspection

The construction of the playscape is complete. We take a final walk around and inspect our work for loose or missing bolts, pick up our mess and collect payment. Take advantage of this time to do preventive maintenance and pressure wash and waterseal at Step Four.

Playset Recycling and Removal Service

PictureEven as good as we are, sometimes a wooden playset cannot be repaired.
There are times that the usable life of a swing set has passed and talented hands with a lifetime of skills cannot bring it back to a safe standard. When that time comes, call us to remove your playset and recycle it.

The easiest method of playset disposal is to break it down, load it up and haul it to the dump. Even though there's not much need for a used up broken down swingset and the parts are rarely usable, we feel it's wasteful to just throw it away and try to recycle as much as possible. The amount of labor it takes to strip a playset down to it's simplest parts is not at all profitable. For example, the swingset to the left yields about 50lbs. of metal at $.11/lbs. Some of the wood is usable, but is usually trash and has little to no value. Add storage of swingset parts and you end up with a playset junkyard. We sell some used parts and accessories to offset recycling expenses, but our used stock is limited and subject to availability.

Our removal fee is $225 and up depending on size and level of difficulty.

Things to think about before you hire a playset installer

  • Do they have a website? In the 21st century, what real business doesn't?
  • Beware of swingset installers who don't list a phone number or an e-mail address in their ad. Where will they be next month or next year?
  • Believe it or not finding the cheapest deal isn't always the best thing. Beware of installers who don't charge enough. They could be hard up for cash and don't care what happens after they're paid. Playset installation is always a mental challenge and hard work. A professional will know their value.
