Making Backyards Fun Since 1997

Welcome to Playset Services.. Some of you know me from my other website www.jacksbackyard.com. In 1996, I worked for the local Rainbow Playsystems distributor in Houston. I worked for them as a warehouse manager/sales slime for 6-7 months. I learned assembling swingsets wasn't fun like I thought it must be. It was hard work.

After leaving Rainbow Playsystems, I thought I could make extra money, part-time, assembling other backyard swing sets, as well as moving and repairing them. I have installed do-it-yourself swingset kits from Swing n Slide, Timberbilt, Detailed Play Systems, and insert name here. I have assembled box swing sets from Sunray, Creative Playthings, Adventure Playsets, Gorilla Playsets, etc. I have moved, repaired, maintained, and updated lifetime systems like Rainbow Playsystems, Backyard Adventures, Playnation, Cedarworks, and many others. I've also had my hands on commercial systems.

It's 2011 and I'm still doing it.. After 15 years of building, repairing, and moving backyard play systems, I have a vast bank of experience dealing with a variety of backyard and public play systems. I can safely say, I'm one of the most versatile and knowledgeable people you will ever talk to regarding a child's swingset.

Utilizing that vast bank of experience.. I wrote four DIY books on how to make your own swingset. These can be seen at www.jacksbackyard.com. One of my designs was featured in a DIY Better Homes and Garden book called "Playsets". My designs are also featured on the This Old House website.

We love what we do.. In 2007, I brought in Kerry Parkinson as a partner and he has shown as much passion for this type of work as I do. Playset Services is a culmination of several professionals with over 40 years of experience in the playset industry. This type of work is not for everyone. I chose a group of professionals who love what they do and have the technical and cognitive skills needed to excel in this rapidly changing industry. I rarely go out in the field to perform these services, but I have personally trained and oversee the crews I send out to build, move, or maintain your family playset.
